The International Conference on Indo-African Rural Critical Care will be held May 5–6 from India by CIPACA, a provider of rural intensive care unit (ICU) services, in collaboration with Jagua Publication and CIPACA Institute of Research. The International Conference is the primary gathering of medical professionals, allied health professionals, and scientists to address world challenges and exchange top-notch knowledge. Clinical practise, basic and translational science, creative approaches to rural critical care services, and much more will be the focus of this unique meeting.
The aim of the Indo-African Rural Critical Care Conference is to promote collaboration and knowledge exchange between healthcare professionals from India and Africa to develop innovative solutions for improving critical care services in rural areas.
The Indo-African Rural Critical Care Conference focuses on the following topics related to critical care services in rural areas:
The Indo-African Rural Critical Care Conference is a forum that brings together healthcare professionals from India and Africa to exchange knowledge and experiences on the provision of critical care in rural settings. The conference seeks to address the challenges faced by rural communities in accessing critical care services, such as limited resources, inadequate infrastructure, and a shortage of trained healthcare workers.
In India 70 per cent of population resides in rural areas & suburbs, whereas more than 70 per cent of the specialist doctors are located in metropolitan cities. Approximately 80% of the tertiary care level ICU beds are available only in metropolitan cities.
Likewise, Africa, is in a huge need of Rural Critical Care services. A study in 2022 demonstrates, the burden of emergency treatment and surgery, particularly those associated with traffic accidents, is increasing in Africa. In LMICs (Low and Middle Income Countries), particularly in sub-Saharan Africa, critical care capacity is still largely underreported. An analysis of critical care in 2020 found that there were 0.3 ICU beds for per 100,000 inhabitants on the African continent.
The conference aims to promote collaboration between healthcare professionals from India and Africa to develop innovative solutions for improving critical care services in rural areas. It provides a platform for sharing best practices, research findings, and success stories in the field of rural critical care.
The conference features keynote speakers, panel discussions, workshops, and presentations on various topics related to rural critical care, including emergency medical services, trauma care, infectious disease management, maternal and child health, and telemedicine. Attendees include doctors, nurses, paramedics, public health experts, policymakers, and researchers from India and Africa.
Through this conference, participants are encouraged to develop new partnerships and collaborations to improve the quality and accessibility of critical care services in rural areas. By sharing experiences and knowledge, the conference aims to foster a community of practice that will contribute to the development of sustainable and effective rural critical care systems in India and Africa.
